LCTA Continues Growth Strategy with Acquisition and New Subsidiary

BATON ROUGE, La. --- LCTA Workers’ Comp (LCTA) continues its aggressive growth strategy with the acquisition of Risk Management Resources and the creation of a new subsidiary, LCTA Specialty Insurance Company. These announcements come on the heels of its expansion to write business in Mississippi and Arkansas, and its conversion to a casualty insurance company in early 2016. Risk Management Resources has been rebranded as LCTA Risk Services Inc., and is available to agents, customers and other businesses interested in improving health and safety of their employees. The creation of LCTA Specialty Insurance Company will allow more choices for its agents to cover their insureds. LCTA Casualty will continue to provide the high-level service and coverage for which it is known. It will also continue to pay dividends to qualified policyholders. “Each step we take is to fulfill our core mission to provide excellent coverage and services to our customers,” Melissa Campesi, CEO of LCTA, said. “We are committed to leading by example and showing that LCTA is what’s right with workers’ comp.” LCTA is continuing to eye other markets as it sees opportunities to expand where it makes sense. Leader in Workers’ Comp Industry Passes Away

Baton Rouge, La. --- Ross Campesi, Sr., founder of LCTA Workers’ Comp, died May 7 in his home. Campesi was 90 years old. “Ross’s passing is obviously a huge personal loss … he was the love of my life,” Melissa Campesi, CEO of LCTA, and wife of Campesi, said. “But it’s also a great loss to his employees and the industry. He was forward thinking and truly valued his employees and policyholders.” Campesi established Louisiana Commerce & Trade Association (LCTA) in 1990, in an effort to fill the need for cost effective workers’ compensation solutions at a time when there were not many options. “In creating the LCTA SIF, his philosophy was to always put the members first,” Campesi said of her husband. “He taught his employees that every decision made must be for the benefit their members and that taking care of members meant two things – excellent service and protection.” His philosophy led the 26-year-old company to become the largest SIF in Louisiana before it successfully converted to a casualty insurance company in January 2016. Over the course of his 50-year career, Ross was also instrumental in the founding, formation and ongoing success of several industrial contracting, transporting…
